Russian Bailiffs Seize Crypto to Settle Child Support Debt
Russian authorities have made their first successful seizure of cryptocurrency to recover unpaid child support in Krasnodar Krai. A resident of the Belorechensky District, owing approximately 1.7 million rubles for the support of two minor children, had his crypto holdings liquidated after repeated failures to meet court-ordered obligations.
The Federal Bailiff Service froze the debtor's accounts, including a specialized brokerage account holding cryptocurrency. With court approval, officials partially lifted restrictions to withdraw and liquidate the digital assets, fully covering the outstanding debt. This landmark case sets a precedent for future enforcement actions involving crypto assets in Russia.
